18th Century Hauswehr by Copperrein

Inspired by historic depictions of German hauswehrs, as well existing contemporary objects, this piece measures 14" overall with a blade length of 8".

The high carbon steel blade is hardened and tempered, with a slight hollow grind. The right side is deeply etched with a buck and tree vignette. Dark patination and light buffing give contrast to the art.

The hand features all mechanical joinery and is comprised of red and yellow brass, as well as Alternative Ivory. Handle has been distressed to give the appearance of natural aging.

The sheath is a hardened leather core wrapped in scarlet red velveteen. It is finished with an etched brass chafe and locket, leather gasket, and a brass spine.
