Masonic Sword from scrap

Sword made by Iron John Logan

A sword from steel objects of the North Carolina Masonic community

The useable steel and iron object from North Carolina to be put into the sword

The sacred geometry for the sword

Stripping and cleaning everything in sulfuric acid

Finished forged blade

grinding the blade

Draw Filing the blade

Parts roughed in

Preparing for the etch

Iron work completed

Coins for the pommel of the sword. Originally the GL of NC wanted to use silver coins but could not find two that matched within their collection, so we went with bronze coins instead. I applied silver nitrate patina to the bronze (very interesting light sensitive patina!), doing so in daylight created a prefect "antique silver" finish
