SHARK Theatre-knife

SHARK Theatre-knife by Iron John Logan

This is my rendition of a U.S. SHARK Knife originally made by Western during the Second World War, that has been altered into a Theater Knife. These were originally made by the men in the field, a form of trench art, either modifying their issued fighting knives or from scratch with materials they had on hand.

The 7 inch high carbon steel blade I hand forged, ground, polished and blued. As the original Western knives, it is a dual tang (two tangs supporting the handle) that run all the way through the handle and are peened at the pommel. The hand painted shark mouth art is painted on aircraft aluminum under windshield acrylic and attached to the tang with hand cast half round pins. The sheath is hand sewn and riveted leather like the originals.
